T-55 in design

Hi There,

After follow thread about Modern Combat Gaming System (MCGS) at http://www.paperworlds.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=578 and i have ask to design some tank for that game...so i decide to make T-55 Medium tank, in 1/72 scale (or 1/100?) use 2 programs to get an unfold job...do a mesh in metaseq (because i similar with metaseq) and make an unfold job in Rhino, in Rhino i can add paneline into model easily than metaseq.

see a progress

First is a resource of this T-55, i research from internet and get a 3 views drawing at http://altnet.ru/~military/btvt/tank/2000/russia/t55/T55.gif

second is load that drawing into metaseq and make a simple mesh, result below.

then import that mesh into Rhino and trace a necessary line...

and create a mesh in Rhino what can unroll with unrollsrf

to be continue :)

Hi Michał,

I design in 1/72 because wargaming's player want it as miniatures when they play a board game...each unit much small to make it fit in game. they request 1/100 but i think 1/72 is enough and easy to build. if i design in 1/25 it must have more detail than this

wisa - za bardzo sie na tym nie znam, ale musialbys sam chiba napisac program ktory by to robil. albo ktos by musial recznie tlumaczyc. Sa silniki ktore tlumacza z roznych jezykow na rozne - ale o tlumaczacym na polski jeszcze nie slyszalem. jakby co takiego bylo - to moglbys juz dawno obcojezyczne witryny po polskiemu czytac.
jezeli jest inaczej to niech mnie kto z bledu wyprowadzi

Translation-tlumaczenie
Nobi robi model T-55 na podstawie gry MCGS. Ktos tam go porosil o czolg w skali 1/100 aby mogl uzyc takiej makiety do gry plaszowej. Skala 1/25 raczej odpada bo planszy by braklo :0 Nobi uzywa metaseq i rozwija bryly w Rhino. Ciag dalszy nastapi.

Projektuję w 1/72 bo gracze chcą aby były małe, aby mogli grać nimi w grę planszową. Każda jednostka musi być mała aby pasowała do gry. Prosili żeby je zrobić w skali 1/100 ale moim zdaniem 1/72 jest wystarczająca i jednocześnie łatwa do zbudowania. Jeśli zaprojektowałbym go w 1/25 musiałby mieć sporo więcej detali niż ten.

Hi all,

this is my second attempt of tank's design, first one is fail due to my beginner level of design is not good enough

Day two :P after do mesh in metaseq, import and trace line in Rhino...then add a panel line what must present in finish unroll job. result is below

and then unroll with unrollsrf command, below is example of unroll job of turret :)

with this detail u can increase scale from 1/72 to 1/35 easily :)

update picture today for unroll job...that track is 17.5 cm long (in 1/72 scale)

Finally after few days of research I found this:
http://www.terra.dti.ne.jp/~yoshidom/ tanks in 1/72 scale, non-coloured, IMO will perfectly fit the game.
